ROAD TOLL IN DENMARK FROM JANUARY 1, 2025

Starting on January 1, 2025, Denmark will withdraw from the Eurovignette cooperation and introduce a kilometer-based road toll

​

The kilometer toll includes the following:

• From 2025, road toll will apply for haulers driving on most national roads as well as parts of the municipal road network. In environmental zones, the kilometer toll will be higher.
• Control will be conducted through license plate readings and by retrieving data from the on-board unit.
• According to the political agreement, the entire Danish road network will be subject to the toll from January 1, 2028.​

Toll Structure and CO2-Emission Classes

The rate per kilometer will depend on the technically permissible total weight of the motor vehicle and the CO2-emission class.

The road tolls were debated for the first time in the Danish Parliament on Friday, November 1, 2024, and was passed after its second and third readings on November 28, 2024.
